Jason Allen (1, S)

Jason Allen was projected to be drafted in the third or fourth round in the draft.  But Nick Saban is proving to be alot like ex-Browns coach Butch Davis when it comes to the draft.  By that I mean, Saban drafts players he tried to recruit, or played for or against him when he was a coach at LSU.  This is usually a recipe for disaster….see Butch Davis’ career in Cleveland.

Allen had a very serious injury his senior season (dislocated hip) and has had serious trouble trying to tackle NFL-caliber backs from the SEC.  In college Allen played in 44 games (26 starts) and made 220 tackles, broke up 18 passes, had four interceptions and forced five fumbles.

Allen was a huge reach where the Dolphins took him.  Saban had better realize that he has to recruit the entire country or it will only be a matter of time before the it starts to show on the field.
