Defense earns Dolphins 1st victory 13-10
The defense carried the Dolphins to their first victory of the season over the hapless Tennessee Titans. The rn defense, which had been having problems so far this season, played well. The Titans only had 62 yards rushing on 22 carries (2.8 ypc). The Titans did net 254 yards passing, but the Dolphins intercepted 2 passes off Kerry Collins. Zach Thomas had 9 tackles and an interception. LB Channing Crowder had 8 tackles and DT Keith Traylor had 3 tackles and 2 sacks.
Duante Culpepper completed 17 of 26 passes for 168 yards and rushed for a TD. RB Ronnie Brown carried the load on offense, toting the ball 26 times for 90 yards (3.5 ypc). WR Wes Welker had 5 catches for 59 yards. Chris Chambers had 4 catches for 39 yards and one carry for 39 yards.
While hardly impressive, a win is a win.
