It looks as if Ronnie Brown will miss another week as he recovers from a broken hand. Sammy Morris will replace him again, and he’s been running well.
The Dolphins won this football game by running the football and playing great on defense. Joey Harrington did a good job of managing the game as he hit 18 of 30 passes for 190 yards and a TD. Sammy Morris had a great game as he carried the ball 25 times for 123 yards (4.9 ypc) and a TD. He also caught 2 passes for 39 yards. Marty Booker, who looks like he’s Harrington’s favorite receiver, caught 8 passes for 103 yards and a TD. Randy McMichael (3 rec, 31 yards) and Chris Chambers (3 rec, 11 yards) each pitched in a little in the passing game.
Yeremiah Bell led the way for the Dolphins defense with 8 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Jason Taylor had 5 tackles and a sack. The Fins had a rough time with the Patriots running game as they carried the ball 25 times for 123 yards (4.9 ypc). The Patriots only completed 14 of 28 passes for 66 net yards passing.
The Dolphins improved to 6-7 on the season with this win.
Jason Allen has all the measureables you look for in a safety, but, he hasn’t played as well as a first round pick should. Allen has played in all 12 games but he only has 15 tackles and 1 interception. Coach Saban better wake up and quit drafting SEC players just because he coached against them, recruited them or played for him. The draft is open to every college in the country….so put your time in Saban in the off-season! Saban is walking down the same path that Butch Davis did in Cleveland and you see where that got him.
The Patriots are rolling as they’ve won 3 games in a row. The Dolphins also have been hot as they’ve won 4 of their last 5 games.
Look for the Patriots to come out throwing the ball against the Dolphins. Tom Brady (2,868 yards passing) should have a good game if his O-Line keeps him clean. Jason Taylor must get extra attention from the line and running backs to keep him away from Brady. After Brady softens up the defense, look for the Patriots to start pounding the ball with Corey Dillon (575 yards rushing) as Laurence Maroney will miss this game because of injury.
With Ronnie Brown missing another game, look for the Dolphins to shift the focus of their offense back to the passing game. Joey Harrington must be careful against the Patriots defense that already has 16 interceptions on the season (7 by Asante Samuel). Harrington will spread the ball among Wes Welker, Marty Booker, Randy McMichael and Chris Chambers.
The Patriots won the first game 20-10 over the Dolphins and should win this game too. Tom Brady will have success throwing the ball against the Dolphins and Joey Harrington will throw a couple of picks that will turn the balance of this game.
The Dolphins just couldn’t handle the physical play of the Jaguars. Joey Harrington completed 27 of 42 passes for 267 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT. Sammy Morris carried the ball 12 times for 47 yards (3.9 ypc) and caught 3 passes for 20 yards. Travis Minor carried the ball 6 times for 22 yards (3.7 ypc). Chris Chambers led the way with 8 catches for 121 yards. Marty Booker caught 5 passes for 61 yards and a TD. Wes Welker caught 5 passes for 44 yards.
Zach Thomas led the way on defense with 11 tackles. The Jags carried the ball 31 times for 150 yards (4.8 ypc). The Jags only threw 22 passes, but completed 16 of them for 203 net yards thru the air.

The Jaguars are only 1-4 on the road this season, but 5-1 at home. The Dolphins are rolling with a current 4 game winning streak where they’ve out-scored their opponents 95-53!
The Jaguars will attempt to run the football against the Dolphins, but that will be easier said than done. The Dolphins only allow 93.9 yards rushing per game and 3.4 yards per carry. Fred Taylor (876 yards rushing), Maurice Drew (454 yards rushing) and David Garrard will test them anyway, as it’s strength vs. strength. The Jags don’t really pass well due to a lack of speed in the receiving corps.
The Dolphins will look to run the ball with Sammy Morris against the stiff Jags run defense that only allows 93.6 yards rushing per game and 3.5 yards per carry. Joey Harrington might be forced to throw more than he wants to, and he better be careful….because Rashean Mathis has been a thief so far with 6 INTs.
This game should be close because of the defenses, but I’m going with the Dolphins who have been on a roll as of late.
