The Miami Dolphins re-sign linebacker Donnie Spragan

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General by dawgpounded on Wednesday 25 April 2007 at 9:22 pm

The Dolphins have re-signed Donnie Spragan.  He played in all 16 games last season and he made 50 tackles, had 1.5 sacks, defensed 3 passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.  Spragan played well for the Dolphins last season and he could start this season for them.

The Miami Dolphins let punter Donnie Jones walk

The Dolphins have decided not to match the offer sheet that the St. Louis Rams made to Donnie Jones.  So now the Dolphins have another hole on their roster to fix with the draft fast approaching.  Maybe the Fins will use a late round draft pick on a punter as that’s the cheapest way to fill the open spot.

The Miami Dolphins sign a couple of free agents

The Dolphins have signed RB Ray Perkins and C Jonathan Ingram.  Perkins was with head coach Cam Cameron in San Diego last season but he didn’t play a down.  He fill fight it out for a reserve role for the Fins this season.  Ingram was a depth signing as he didn’t play a down all season for the Kansas City Chiefs.  He has only played in 4 games in his 3 season NFL career.

The Miami Dolphins are on the clock…………

Blogged under Bloglockers, The Draft Report, Front Page, General by dawgpounded on Sunday 15 April 2007 at 12:35 pm

I have conducted a complete 7 round draft for every team in the NFL.  If you want to see what I have projected for any other team in the NFL, click on the team name in the right hand margin and go to the team’s Draft Report page if you don’t see the article on the front page of the site.  This was a lot of work so I hope you enjoy it.

The Miami Dolphins will likely get pretty good value for their picks in the draft later this month.  Here’s who I think they will select:

1. (9)  Levi Brown, OT, Penn State

2. (40)  Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan State

2. (60)  Rufus Alexander, OLB, Oklahoma

3. (71)  Brian Leonard, RB/FB, Rutgers

4. (108)  Brian Robison, DE, Texas

6. (181)  Jonny Harline, TE, BYU

6. (199)  Zach Lattimer, MLB, Oklahoma

7. (219)  Keith Jackson, DT, Arkansas

7. (238)  Jemalle Cornelius, WR, Florida

The Dolphins would be very pleased if the draft worked out this way for them.  Brown would be an immediate starter for the Dolphins.  Stanton would battle Cleo Lemon and Daunte Culpepper for the starting job for the Fins this season.  Alexander and Leonard also could be key contributors to the Fins as rookies.
