The Dolphins signed Jay Feely as a free agent because they were upset with Olindo Mare’s performance.  They then shipped Mare to the Saints for a 6th round pick in 2008.  Feely hit 85.2% of his field goals last season for the Giants and all 38 of his extra point attempts.  Feely hit 17 of 18 inside 40 yards and 6 of 9 outside 40 yards which proves he has a strong leg.  He finished up with 107 points for the Giants last season.

Feely has played in 96 career NFL games and he has scored 691 points for an average of 7.2 points per game.  He has made 156 of 196 (79.6%) of his field goals and 223 of 225 extra points.  Feely will be a huge upgrade over Mare for the Dolphins.
