Miami Dolphins 22, Baltimore Ravens 16 in OT

Blogged under Game Recaps, Bloglockers, Front Page, General by admin on Wednesday 19 December 2007 at 3:54 pm

The Miami Dolphins won their first game of the season and it took OT to get it.  That just made the win sweeter to Dolphins fans and players.  Cleo Lemon had an outstanding game as he completed 23 of 39 passes for 315 yards with a TD pass.  He also carried the football 3 times for 12 yards (4.0 ypc).  Samkon Gado had a rough time finding running room as he carried the football 18 times for 43 yards (2.4 ypc) with a TD run.  Lorenzo Booker carried the football 8 times for 17 yards (2.1 ypc) and he also caught 6 passes for 60 yards (10.0 avg).  Marty Booker led the way in the passing game for the Dolphins with 8 catches for 88 yards (11.0 avg).  But it was little known Greg Camarillo who made the big game-winning 64-yard TD catch in OT to win the game!  He finished up with 3 catches for 109 yards (36.3 avg) with a TD grab.  The Dolphins finished up with 72 yards rushing on 29 carries (2.5 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 39 passes for 288 yards.

Lance Shulters and Jason Allen led the way with 7 tackles apiece in this game.  The Ravens finished up with 163 yards rushing on 36 carries (4.5 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 30 passes for 182 yards.

Miami Dolphins vs. Baltimore Ravens

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report, General by admin on Thursday 13 December 2007 at 12:07 am

These two teams really deserve to play each other because they both suck!  The Ravens have lost 7 games in a row after a promising start while the Dolphins are a hapless 0-13 on the season.

The Ravens will come out running the football in this game with Willis McGahee (1,093 yards rushing, 7 TDs) against a Dolphins team that is allowing 155.4 yards rushing per game and 4.4 yards per carry.  Look for the Ravens to keep the passing game short to the tight ends and Derrick Mason to try to avoid mistakes with the football which Kyle Boller tends to make on longer passes.

The Dolphins should just come out throwing the football against the Ravens who have problems in the secondary right now.  But Cleo Lemon must avoid challenging safety Ed Reed of the Ravens who has 6 interceptions so far this season.  The Dolphins would like to establish a running game with Samkon Gado but that will be easier said than done against a Ravens defense that is only allowing 77.4 yards rushing per game and 2.8 yards per carry.

PREDICTION:  BALTIMORE RAVENS 17,  MIAMI DOLPHINS 13

Buffalo Bills 38, Miami Dolphins 17

The Dolphins got blasted 31-7 in the first half and they never recovered as they fall to 0-13 on the season.  John Beck completed 1 of 2 passes for 6 yards before he was removed from the game.  He also lost a fumble that was returned 20 yards for a TD by safety George Wilson of the Bills.  Cleo Lemon replaced Beck in the game and he didn’t play much better.  Lemon completed 22 of 41 passes for 241 yards with 2 interceptions.  Lemon also fumbled the ball an amazing 4 times (losing one).  Samkon Gado was busy as he carried the ball 12 times for 52 yards (4.3 ypc) with 2 TD runs and he also caught 2 passes for 41 yards (20.5 avg).  Lorenzo Booker also got some action as he carried the ball 4 times for 13 yards (3.3 ypc) and he also caught 6 passes for 34 yards (5.7 avg).  Derek Hagan (8 rec, 93 yards) and Ted Ginn (4 rec, 67 yards) pitched in on the passing game for the Fins.  The Dolphins finished up with 65 yards rushing on 21 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 44 passes for 220 yards.

Safety Jason Allen (8 tackles) and linebacker Derrick Pope (8 tackles) led the way for the Dolphins defense.  The Bills finished up with 224 yards rushing on 40 carries (5.6 ypc) and they also completed 11 of 23 passes for 165 yards.
