The Miami Dolphins had little choice by to fire head coach Cam Cameron who looked overmatched.  The Dolphins were a miserable 1-15 (.063%) in 2007 which helped doom Cameron’s tenure as a head coach in the NFL.  The Dolphins have hired one of Bill Parcells’ old friends from his days in Dallas to replace Cameron on the sidelines, Tony Sparano.  Sparano was the assistant head coach in Dallas last season and his loss will hurt the Cowboys next season.  Sparano is an offensive coach and that’s what side of the ball needs the most help in Miami.

The Miami Dolphins might have no choice but to blow up the QB position in the off-season.  Veteran Trent Green will likely retire due to all of the concussions he has incurred during his NFL career.  He played in 5 games this season for the Dolphins and he completed 85 of 141 passes (60.3%) for 987 yards with 5 TD passes and 7 interceptions (72.6 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 7 times for 32 yards (4.6 ypc).  Green has now played in 117 games in his NFL career and he has completed 2,228 of 3,668 passes (60.7%) for 27,950 yards with 162 TD passes and 108 interceptions (86.9 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 240 times for 910 yards (3.8 ypc) with 6 TD runs.

Cleo Lemon was the next QB to start this season for the Dolphins and he showed a couple brief glimpses of potential during the year.  He played in 9 games this season for the Dolphins and he completed 173 of 309 passes (56%) for 1,773 yards with 6 TD passes and 6 interceptions (71.0 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 31 times for 102 yards (3.3 ypc) with 4 TD runs.  Lemon has now played in 13 games in his NFL career and he has completed 211 of 377 passes (56%) for 2,185 yards with 8 TD passes and 7 interceptions (72.2 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 34 times for 109 yards (3.2 ypc) with 4 TD runs.

Rookie John Beck got some playing time at the end of the season and he appeared overmatched.  Beck played in 5 games this season for the Dolphins and he completed 60 of 107 passes (56.1%) for 559 yards with 1 TD pass and 3 interceptions (62.0 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 9 times for 12 yards (1.3 ypc) with 1 TD run.
