The Dolphins have signed 26-year old linebacker Charlie Anderson.  Anderson played in 16 games for the Texans last season and he made 31 tackles, defensed 1 pass and sacked the QB twice.  Anderson has now played in 60 games in his NFL career and he has made 78 tackles, defensed 4 passes and has 3 sacks.  Anderson has a lot of potential and the Fins will likely give him a chance to battle for a starting job.  If nothing else Anderson will provide depth and help out on special teams.

The Miami Dolphins sign Josh McCown

The Dolphins have signed QB Josh McCown to a 2-year, $6.25 million dollar contract.  McCown is a big guy at 6′4″, 213 pounds who is a dropback passer who can run when he needs to.  He will likely not have much of a problem beating out 2nd year man John Beck for the starting job this season.  McCown played in 9 games last season for the Raiders and he completed 111 of 190 passes (58.4%) for 1,151 yards with 10 TD passes and 11 interceptions (69.4 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 29 times for 143 yards (4.9 ypc).  McCown has now played in 46 games in his NFL career and he has completed 609 of 1,052 passes (57.9%) for 6,582 yards with 35 TD passes and 40 interceptions (71.6 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 123 times for 572 yards (4.7 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  McCown was one of the better free agent options in a weak QB crop so the Dolphins did a smart thing by locking him up quickly.
