The Dolphins have signed 26-year old Joe Berger to a deal. Berger is a huge guy at 6′5″, 310 pounds but he doesn’t have much experience. He played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Cowboys last season. In five years, Berger has played in 7 games (0 starts). He is likely getting a chance in Miami because of his ties with the Cowboys.
The Dolphins have signed 27-year old safety Gibril Wilson to a 5-year deal. Wilson played in all 16 games for the Raiders last season and he made 129 tackles, defensed 4 passes, had 1.5 sacks, forced 1 fumble and he intercepted 2 passes. Wilson has now played in 68 games in his NFL career and he has made 492 tackles, defensed 30 passes, has 7.5 sacks, forced 7 fumbles and he has intercepted 13 passes. This was a great move for the Dolphins as Wilson will definately improve the back end of the Dolphins’ defense in 2009.
