Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

These two teams split last season’s series with each team winning big at home.  The Fins won 38-10 at home and then the Bills plunked them 31-14 later in the year in Buffalo.  I have a feeling that the new, improved Dolphins are going to have some fun this Sunday in New York.  Here is a close look at the match-ups in this game:

When the Dolphins have the ball:  The Dolphins were a run heavy team last season and I look for that to be the philosophy this weekend.  Look for the Fins to attack the outside of the Bills’ defense challenging their outside linebackers and corners to make some plays.  Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams will also be pounding the ball up the middle quite a bit too.  Don’t look for the Dolphins to use a deep passing game as they will keep things short to Brandon Marshall, Brian Hartline and Davone Bess to control the clock and help where out the Bills’ D.

When the Bills have the ball:  The Bills don’t have much of a passing game but they have a decent run blocking line and a nice stable of RBs.  The Dolphins must control the Bills running game if they are going to win this game.  That means that NT Randy Starks is going to have to demand a double team so that inside linebackers Karlos Dansby and Channing Crowder can flow to the ball.  The only real passing threat down the field that the Bills have is Lee Evans so look for the Fins to have safety help over the top on his side of the field.

PREDICTION:  DOLPHINS 24, BILLS 16
