The Dolphins made some big plays on D in this game despite giving up a lot of yards to the Vikings and that is why they won this game.  Yeremiah Bell (12 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), CB Jason Allen (11 tackles, 3 passes defensed and 2 interceptions) and Karlos Dansby (9 tackles, 1 pass defensed) led the way for the Fins on D in this game.  CB Vontae Davis (6 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) and rookie linebacker Koa Misi (2 tackles, 2 QB hits and a fumble recovery for a TD) also made huge impact plays for the Dolphins today.  The Vikings finished up with 156 yards rushing on 33 carries (4.7 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 36 passes for 208 yards today against the Fins.

Chad Henne was little more than a game manager this week against the Vikings.  He completed 9 of 15 passes for 114 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  Ronnie Brown (13 carries, 80 yards) and Ricky Williams (10 carries, 30 yards) led the way on the ground for the Fins today.  WRs Brandon Marshall (4 rec, 71 yards) and Davone Bess (3 rec, 28 yards, TD) led the way in the air for the Dolphins in this game.  The Dolphins finished up with 120 yards rushing on 29 carries (4.1 ypc) and they also completed 9 of 15 passes for 106 yards as they only had possesion of the ball for 24:12.  The Dolphins are now a surprising 2-0 on the year.

Miami Dolphins 15, Buffalo Bills 10

Despite pushing the Bills around in this game this was a battle for the Fins.  Chad Henne was so-so completing 21 of 34 passes for 182 yard in this game.  Ronnie Brown led the way on the ground for the Dolphins in this game with 13 carries for 65 yards (5.0 ypc) with a TD carry and he also caught 2 passes for 20 yards (10.0 avg).  Ricky Williams also was busy in this game with 18 carries for 62 yards (3.4 ypc).  Devone Bess (6 rec, 51 yards) and Brandon Marshall (8 rec, 53 yards) led the way for the Dolphins in the passing game yesterday.  The Dolphins finished up with 132 yards rushing on 36 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 34 passes for 164 yards as they had possession of the ball for 36:53 in this game.

Safety Yeremiah Bell (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 QB hit) and LB Karlos Dansby (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 3 QB hits) led the way for the Fins on D in this game.  OLB Cameron Wake was also busy with 3 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 2 passes defensed and 2 QB hits.  The Bills could only muster 50 yards rushing on 17 carries (2.9 ypc) and they completed 18 of 34 passes for 116 yards in this game.  A win is a win no matter how unimpressive it is, so the Fins will take it.

Pittsburgh Steelers 30, Miami Dolphins 24

The Dolphins played hard yesterday but they just fell short against the Steelers.  Chad Henne was solid in the first half of the game yesterday completing 16 of 20 passes for 140 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  But, he didn’t play the rest of the game due to a eye injury.  Pat White replaced Henne at QB and he carried the ball 5 times for 27 yards (5.4 ypc) and he threw two incomplete passing before leaving the field on a stretcher.  That left things up to Tyler Thigpen who came off the bench firing the football as he completed 4 of 8 passes for 83 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 costly interceptions.  Rickey Williams didn’t have his best game as he carried the ball 12 times for 31 yards (2.6 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 4 yards (1.3 avg).  Lex Hilliard pitched in with 1 carry for 9 yards and 1 catch for 11 yards that went for a TD.  WR Davone Bess led the way in the passing game for the Dolphins with 5 catches for 85 yards (17.0 avg) with a TD grab.  Brian Hartline pitched in with 2 catches for 34 yards and he also carried the ball 2 times for 20 yards (10.0 (ypc) with a TD.  The Dolphins finished up with 303 total yards on offense (99 rushing, 204 passing) in this game.

Safety Yeremiah Bell led a pretty poor overall effort by the D with 6 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 INT.  OLB Joey Porter pitched in with 2 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 QB hit and a fumble recovery.  The Steelers finished up with 403 total yards on offense (202 rushing, 201 passing) in this game.  The Dolphins finish the season with a 7-9 record.

Houston Texans 27, Miami Dolphins 20

The Dolphins were down 27-3 at the half before showing life in the second half before falling just a tad short.  Chad Henne was solid in completing 35 of 55 passes for 322 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  Rickey Williams carried the ball 10 times for 35 yards (3.5 ypc) and he also caught 5 passes for 26 yards (5.2 avg) before leaving the game due to injury.  Lex Hilliard replaced Williams and he carried the ball 3 times for 12 yards (4.0 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 9 passes for 74 yards (8.2 avg) with a TD grab.  Ted Ginn Jr. had his best game in quite a while as he lead the way for the Fins with 5 grabs for 82 yards (16.4 avg) yesterday.  The Dolphins finished up with 363 total yards on offense (60 rushing, 303 passing) in this game.

Akin Ayodele (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 QB hit) and Yeremiah Bell (5 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) led the way for the Dolphins on D in this game.  The Texans finished up with 406 total yards in this game (126 rushing, 280 passing).  The Dolphins are now 7-8 on the year but they still have a slight chance of making the playoffs.

Tennessee Titans 27, Miami Dolphins 24 in OT

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by admin on Sunday 20 December 2009 at 11:26 pm

This game will stick with the Dolphins like a bitter pill.  Chad Henne really showed me something in this game by rallying his team to score 15 points in the 4th quarter to send this game into O.T.  But, he also threw the pick-off that set up the winning field goal for the Titans.  Henne completed 29 of 46 passes for 349 yards with 1 TD pass and 3 INTs.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 11 yards (5.5 ypc) in this game.  Ricky Williams had another solid game today with 19 carries for 80 yards (4.2 ypc) with a TD run.  He also caught 3 passes for 9 yards (3.0 avg) today.  Brian Hartline led the way for the Dolphins with 92 yards receiving on only 2 catches (46.0 avg).  Davone Bess (4 rec, 58 yards), Greg Camarillo (5 rec, 46 yards) and Anthony Fasano (4 rec, 36 yards, TD) all pitched in for the Fins’ in the passing game today.  The Dolphins finished up with 468 total yards on offense (121 rushing, 347 passing) in this game.

The defense didn’t play that well for the Dolphins today.  Safeties Gibril Wilson (7 tackles) and Yeremiah Bell (6 tackles) pitched in for the Fins’ today on D.  But, Jason Taylor had the best game on the defensive side of the ball for the Dolphins with 6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and a sack.  The Titans finished up with 364 total yards on offense (128 rushing, 236 passing) in this game.  The Dolphins are now 7-7 on the season.

Miami Dolphins 14, Jacksonville Jaguars 10

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by admin on Sunday 13 December 2009 at 8:18 pm

The Dolphins were ball hogs on offense and they played great on D to win this game today.  Chad Henne was so-so today as he completed 21 of 29 passes for 220 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 4 times for 1 yards (0.3 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Ricky Williams was the main man on offense for the Fins today as he carried the ball 28 times for 108 (3.9 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 2 passes for 7 yards (3.5 avg) today.  Greg Camarillo led the way in the passing game for the Dolphins with 7 catches for 110 (15.7 avg).  The Dolphins finished up with 354 total yards in this game (146 rushing, 208 passing) as they had possession of the football for 35:06 of this game.

The defense was outstanding today for the Dolphins.  Safeties Yeremiah Bell (7 tackles, 1 pass defensed) and Gibril Wilson (6 tackles, 1 pass defensed) led the way for the Fins’ D today.  The Jaguars finished up with only 217 total yards on offense (95 rushing, 122 passing) in this game.  The Dolphins are right back in the playoff hunt as they improved to 7-6 on the year.

Miami Dolphins 22, New England Patriots 21

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by admin on Monday 7 December 2009 at 9:28 am

This was a game the Dolphins had to have and they got it due to Chad Henne and Dan Carpenter.  Henne led the Fins on a 4th quarter drive late in the game that set up Dan Carpenter for the game winning 41-yard field goal with 1:02 left in the game.  The Dolphins finally took the shackles off QB Chad Henne and he responded by completing 29 of 52 passes for 335 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  Ricky Williams pitched in with 75 yards rushing on 18 carries (4.2 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 6 yards (3.0 avg).  WR Davone Bess had a true breakout game yesterday with 10 catches for 117 yards (11.7 avg) with a TD grab.  TE Anthony Fasano pitched in with 5 grabs for 67 yards (13.4 avg).  WRs Greg Camarillo (4 rec, 61 yards) and Brian Hartline (4 rec, 41 yards, TD) also helped out in the passing game yesterday.  The Dolphins finished up with 416 total yards in this game (88 rushing, 328 passing).

LB Akin Ayodele (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), Yeremiah Bell (6 tackles) and Gibril Wilson (6 tackles) led a sub par effort by the defense.  The Patriots finished up with 448 total yards of offense in this game (96 rushing, 352 passing).  The Dolphins are now tied with the Jets at 6-6, just 1 game behind the Patriots in the AFC East.

Buffalo Bills 31, Miami Dolphins 14

The Dolphins were winning the game earlier today 14-7 heading into the 4th quarter and that is when the roof caved in as the Bills scored 24 unanswered points to end the game.  Chad Henne had probably the worst game of his NFL career today as he completed 17 of 31 passes for 175 yards with 1 TD pass and 3 INTs.  Ricky Williams was outstanding running the ball as he carried it 27 times for 115 yards (4.3 ypc) with 1 TD run, but, he also through a interception in the end zone while running the Wildcat Formation and it really hurt the Fins.  Anthony Fasano led the way in the passing game for the Dolphins today with 5 catches for 74 yards (14.8 avg).  Rookie WR Brian Hartline pitched in with 3 catches for 31 yards (10.3 avg) with a TD grab today.  The Dolphins finished up with 325 total yards on offense in this game (157 rushing, 168 passing).

The defense played really well for the first 3/4 of this game before falling apart.  Safety Yeremiah Bell led the way for the Fins’ on defense with 13 tackles, 1 pass defensed and a INT.  OLB Joey Porter was again almost impossible to keep out of the backfield as he finished up with 5 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and 3 QB hits.  The Bills finished up with 336 total yards on offense (129 rushing, 207 passing).  The Dolphins are now 5-6 on the season as this is a huge blow to their playoff hopes in 2009.

Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by admin on Friday 27 November 2009 at 11:15 am

This is a heated rivalry that the Bills and Dolphins have that goes back to the good old days of Dan Marino and Jim Kelly.  Chad Henne and Ryan Fitzpatrick won’t be likely putting on an air show like Marino and Kelly used to this weekend.  The Dolphins are really playing well the last seven weeks losing to only the Patriots and Saints in that time.  They abused the Bills in the first meeting between these teams 38-10 in Miami.  The Dolphins will likely have the same type of gameplan which included a lot of running the ball on offense.  The Bills are allowing 165.9 yards rushing per game and 4.9 yards per carry this season so look for Ricky Williams to be heavily involved in the offense.  Chad Henne will likely only be asked to manage this game and that is a good idea due to the ballhawking secondary that the Bills employ that already has 17 pickoffs this season.

The Bills will likely come out firing the football around the field in a attempt to get the Dolphins out of their game plan.  Terrell Owens and Lee Evans will likely be the players most targeted in the passing game as the Fins will be starting two rookies at CB.  For that type of offense to work the O-Line will have to give Fitzpatrick time to throw the ball.  That will be easier said than done with the injuries the Bills have suffered recently along the O-Line.  The Fins will likely be blitzing a lot in this game with Jason Taylor and the recently rejuvenated Joey Porter.  The Bills will also likely use a lot of screen passes in this game to beat the blitz.  Fred Jackson will likely do a lot of the heavy lifting in the running game and out of the backfield in the passing game as Marshawn Lynch is gimpy right now.

PREDICTION:  DOLPHINS 24, BILLS 17

Miami Dolphins 24, Carolina Panthers 17

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by admin on Friday 20 November 2009 at 10:37 am

The Dolphins looked pretty good last night in Charlotte beating the Panthers at their own game.  Chad Henne was solid making big throws when he needed to as he completed 17 of 29 passes for 172 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  Ricky Williams was outstanding for the Dolphins last night as he carried the ball 22 times for 119 yards (5.4 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 2 passes for 19 yards (9.5 avg) with a TD grab last night.  Lex Hilliard also looked decent at RB for the Dolphins last night with 24 yards on 4 carries (6.0 ypc0 and he also caught 2 passes for 7 yards (3.5 avg).  Davone Bess was the leading receiver for the Dolphins last night with 6 grabs for 63 yards (10.5 avg).  The Dolphins finished up with 326 total yards offensively last night (154 rushing, 172 passing).

OLB Joey Porter kicked down the door of Coach Tony Sparano’s Dog House last night as he led the way for the Fins’ D last night with 8 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 3 QB hits!  DT Randy Starks also had a big game with 5 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 2 QB hits.  The Panthers finished up with 383 total yards on offense (182 rushing, 201 passing) but the Fins made big plays on D when they needed them late in this game to win it.   The Dolphins are now 5-5 on the year.
