The Miami Dolphins finished last season with a 7-9 record.  They really needed to get a new starting QB for 2011, but they didn’t.  QB Chad Henne and head coach Tony Sparano are both on an extremely hot seat in Miami.  That’s a ton of pressure on a team that will likely be overmatched in more than half of their games talent wise in 2011.  I have a hard time seeing the Dolphins winning more than six games in 2011, so I would definitely bet on the under.

The Dolphins were only 7-9 last season but they had a lot of QB problems due to the injury to Chad Pennington.  Chad Henne will go into this season as the starter and he will have a new go-to WR in Brandon Marshall.  I look for this move to help the Dolphins’ passing game big time while freeing up the backs with more room to operate.  To me this season hinges on how well the D is going to play.  Let the Jets & Patriots hog up all of the ink as I’m taking the over with the Dolphins in 2010.  They are 40-1 to win the Super Bowl in 2010 and that might be enough odds to entice a small bet on them.

I don’t think the Dolphins improved enough in the offseason to take the over so the play is under.  The Dolphins are on the right track but I don’t see any way that they can improve 5 games over 2007.  It’s going to be another long year for the Dolphins but they will at least keep the games closer this season.

I think the rebuilding of the Dolphins offense is going to take some time.  I feel bad for Trent Green and Ronnie Brown that they have to play behind one of the worst offensive lines in all of football.  Cam Cameron will need to use all of the tricks in his playbook to move the ball with this offensive line.  In fact, I don’t see Green making it the whole season healthy.  The defense is getting old and one of these days it will start to decline.  Take the under.
